Tips on Growing Staghorn Fern Plant | Platycerium bifurcatum

Water: Staghorn Fern plants prefer to be watered thoroughly but infrequently. Allow the top few inches of the mounting medium (usually sphagnum moss or a similar material) to dry out between waterings. When watering, aim to saturate the roots and the mounting medium, but avoid waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

Lighting Conditions: These ferns thrive in bright, indirect light. Place them in a location with plenty of filtered sunlight or indirect sunlight. Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, as it can scorch their fronds. They can tolerate lower light conditions but may not grow as vigorously.

Ideal Temperature: Staghorn Ferns prefer temperatures between 60°F to 80°F (16°C to 27°C). They can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but are sensitive to frost and cold drafts. Protect them from sudden temperature fluctuations and keep them away from cold drafts from windows or doors.
